Report Castro del Rio

From 06.10-12.10.2019 the second meeting of the Erasmus + School Partnership took place in Spain. In Castro del Rio, a small village in Andalusia, schools from Portugal, Bulgaria, Spain and Germany met to continue working on the project “Job opportunities for young European teenagers”. 18 students from the participating countries were accompanied by 6 teachers and warmly welcomed by the Spanish students and teachers. We visited several companies on-site to get an impression of job opportunities in Europe.

At the olive oil production factory “Luque” the students were informed about the manufacturing process of ecological, natural olive oil.

We visited “Montessori school for special needs” and interviewed a psychologist, a social worker, a teacher, and a horse therapist on their skills. They gave our students information about the competences needed to practice this profession.


On another day we visited the cod fish factory “Albacor”, and despite the intense smell in the warehouse, the students could get an insight into the storage and processing of this special Andalucian fish.

In a publishing company “Ediciones Matters” the manager of the enterprise reported about work processes of a publisher for driving school courses and examinations.

One afternoon, the students went alone to a restaurant, a dance school and a supermarket and interviewed them on the experiences and training opportunities.

At a lecture at the Spanish school a captain of a cruise ship from “TUI” reported on his job profile.

Another lecture was given by a representative of “Europe Direct”, who provided information about work placements and internships for young people between the ages of 18 and 30 in Europe.

The working language during the mobility was English and the pupils worked together in international groups from 4 different countries This Erasmus+ KA2 project is certified with the Europass Mobility .

During the cultural trips to the region, the students had the opportunity to visit the Alhambra in Granada, the Cathedral of Cordoba and were welcomed by the mayor in Castro del Rio.
